The 3 rd edition of the "Swiss Biotechnology Industry Guide", the most comprehensive directory of Swiss companies in the field of modern biotechnology is available. One fifth of the companies have been newly added to the previously published list in the 2nd edition.
The Industry Guide was again published in cooperation with the Swiss National Science Foundation's Priority Programme Biotechnology and the Association of Swiss Biotech Companies. An English version is now also available as a CD-Rom. The Guide contains detailed information about the companies, general company data, contact persons, self portraits, product descriptions, research and development activities and production facilities. The 259 companies are divided into three categories: "Biotechnology Companies" (biotechnology as the primary business focus), "Other Companies with Biotech Activities" (biotechnology as one segment of the main business activities) and "Biotech Consulting Companies". In addition to these three main categories the publication contains lists of venture capitalists, of offered products and services, of representations of foreign companies, of offers for trainee positions as well as contact addresses in the Technology Transfer field. In the second chapter an alphabetic index with classifications offers a clear overview over the companies.
