- In October last year EAPB had the first elections in its history after foundation in the year 2000. Elected was a new Executive Committee consisting of President, First and Second Vice President, First Scientific Secretary, Second Scientific Secretary & Treasurer. - The 11th European Congress on Biotechnology took place in Basle, 24-29 August 2003. The ECB11 was organised by the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB), it was the 25th anniversary of EFB. EAPB is the official associated section for Pharma & Medical Biotechnology of EFB and organised one day with pharmaceutical biotechnology topics (Monday, August 25). more

- Regulatory Affairs is one of the most important disciplines accompanying drug development from tube to market. Regulations governing research, development and marketing of medicinal products are nowaday developed in close co-operation between authorities and pharmaceutical industry. more
- EAPB has reached its first strategic aim in Europe to establish itself as the European society for pharma biotechnology,one of the first aims was to grow and reach a decent membership. This has been achieved now by about 1000 members including 50 corporate members (companies).
- The AAPS has established a globalisation task force to coordinate workshops, symposia and conferences world-wide.There are two sections of the task force, one for developed countries and one for developing countries, the task force being run by the president of AAPS Dr.Vinod Shah.
- The Annual Meeting and Exposition of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) will take place in Salt Lake City November 10 – 14, 2003.
