Automated hybridization stations

MipTec 2005 saw the European launch of Tecan’s new family of HS Pro hybridization stations, designed to automate a variety of microarray applications. The new models feature a unique ABS-(Active Bubble Suppression)system, which prevents formation of bubbles within the chambers, eliminating hybridization artifacts and ensuring reliable results. In addition, novel dual chambers enable processing of two independent arrays per slide. Microarray technologies are powerful tools that can provide researchers with greater reproducibility, higher sensitivity and reduced labour compared to traditional procedures, notes Tecan. Like their predecessors, the HS 400 Pro and 4800 Pro are designed for full automation, from pre-hybridization and on-board denaturation up to automatic slide drying with unique OSND-Technology. This provides consistent and reliable results from sensitive microarray experiments and offers researchers more time to focus on other areas of research. The HS 400 Pro is ideal for small-to-medium laboratories, while the HS 4800 Pro offers higher capacity. Applications include genomic microarrays, protein microarrays and in-situ hybridization (ISH)
