Now with twice the capacity

Vivascience has doubled the virus-binding capacity of its Vivapure Adenopack 100, which was launched at the beginning of this year. Up to 1013 virus particles can now be purified from 200 ml of cell culture. Vivascience now also provides protocols for virus purification using a peristaltic pump or infusion pump, as well as the original instructions for manual operation. Like the original, the new kit includes all reagents and equipment needed to clarify, purify and concentrate adenovirus from HEK293 cells. The rapid two-hour purification protocol is based on Vivascience’s ion-exchange membrane, which is incorporated in the Adenopack syringe filter units. The devices are unique in their capability to efficiently capture and recover large virus particles, says the company. Compared to chromatography media, membrane adsorbers provide large (3,000 nm) pores which allow unrestricted access and recovery of adenovirus from the charged adsorber surface.
