454 sequencing identifies early stage HIV drug resistance
March 13, 2009 – Retrospective research study shows that even the lowest levels of resistance mutations could lead to early treatment failure. A research study published online in the Journal of Infectious Disease reports that HIV resistance mutations present in as little as 1% of the viral population have a significant impact on clinical outcomes.

March 04, 2009 – NextGen Sciences, the provider of biomarker discovery, assay development and testing services, has sold its electrophoresis business to Sigma-Aldrich Corporation. NextGen Sciences will receive a cash payment and royalty payments on revenues for three years.
